The club conducted an Environmental Education and Conservation project in two schools in the Hambantota District.
200 plus children in junior and secondary grades benefited from this program in the collaboration with the dynamic youthwing @wnpssl.org. The children were interactively taught about the effects of the environment and human elephant conflict, and we conducted a tree planting program of native trees on the perimeters of each school with the students. Beautiful school supplies gift packs and goodie bags of milk, chocolates, biscuits and ice-cream donated by the sponsors were distributed amidst gleeful cheers of excitement at the end of the morning sessions.
