Diabetic Day –
The Inner Wheel Club of Kandy together with District 322, donated 9 pairs of Special Shoes for Diabetics who had lost a limb due to the illness. Some of them were young mothers who were detected with sever diabetes after pregnancy,
This would help to care for the leg that is not affected by a wound.
The Special shoes would help to avoid wounds in the soles as diabetics lose the senses in their feet and do not detect a wound till very late resulting in amputation of affected part of feet or even the leg.
