Marked International Inner Wheel Day by gifting new and nearly new clothes, materials, curtains, shoes, accessories and sewing and knitting materials to a Girl’s Home near Kandy. A cash donation was also provided for underwear for the girls and 5 kilos of rice were given for their use.

The Inner Wheel Clubs of Kandy, Kandy Metropolitan, Katugastota and Matale launched their District Project on Childhood Cancer by meeting with a little boy with leukemia and his mother and giving her the first month’s funds for his treatment. Joined with Sri Lanka Network of Bamboo and Rattan (SRINBAR) to mark World Bamboo Day by planting bamboo saplings at Ambalama, Kumburudeniya in Kandy District.

Donated school shoes and socks to 74 school children in Meemure, a very remote village in the Central Province, for use in the new school year.
