Marking the International Day of the Girl Child an artificial limb is donated annually to a girl through the Center for Handicapped. The recipient of the limb this year was nine-year-old Dimalshi, who was born with a congenital deformity and who needs her artificial limb replaced each year as she outgrows the previous one.

District Project – Childhood Cancer
The Inner Wheel Clubs of Kandy, Kandy Metropolitan, Katugastota and Matale launched their District Project on Childhood Cancer by meeting with a little boy with leukemia and his mother and giving her the first month’s funds for his treatment. An additional cash donation is also donated to the family each month for other expenses.
Ongoing quarterly donations
Ongoing project of quarterly donations to three children’s homes, an elders’ home and the Centre for Handicapped, Kundasale towards incidentals and treats for the children and elders.
