The Inner Wheel Club of Colombo empower women through sewing programmes. A kurtha-making course was started for a batch of students. These additional sewing skills will help the women from less privileged backgrounds to earn money from home, thereby contributing to the family income.

Inner Wheel Club of Colombo were delighted to take the residents of the Pubudu Home for a fun afternoon out. The residents of the home were transported to Pizza Hut where they played games, sang and danced, were entertained by a magician and enjoyed a tasty treat of pizza, ice cream and lava cake.

A talented and promising young girl identified from a programme the previous year was sponsored for a comprehensive 6 month course in Fashion Designing at the SINGER Academy. A batch of 8 women from the City Mission Colombo, was sponsored for a basic sewing programme at SINGER Academy.
Celebrated Inner Wheel Day with the ladies at St. Margaret’s Home
The Inner Wheel Club of Colombo celebrated Inner Wheel Day by providing lunch to the ladies at St. Margaret’s Home. The visiting club, the Inner Wheel Club of Mumbai Hanging Gardens joined in celebrating Inner Wheel Day at the home. They donated diapers and other essential items required by the home.

Donation of bicycles
Donated six bicycles to students in Poonakaryn, Killinochi to encourage them to continue their education in these areas as they face transport issues in the villages they live in.
