The Inner Wheel Club of Colombo West handed over funds to the Sunera Foundation to sponsor the transportation costs for the annual trip to Badulla organized by the “Differently Abled Adults Group” in Dehiwala.
The Inner Wheel Club of Kandy donated an artificial limb to a girl born with a defect that affects her ability to walk. This donation by IWC Kandy is ongoing; this is the third time she has received a custom-made limb.
On International Literacy Day stationery and other essential items were donated to 40 underprivileged children of Sujatha girls’ school.
The members of the Inner Wheel Club of Colombo West enjoyed a day trip to Dampe, Piliyandala, where they had a great time.
The Inner Wheel Club of Colombo Nawa Udana held a cookery program at the Bambalapitiya Flats Public Hall, initiated by Thilani Withanage, the ISO of the club. Also, a mental health awareness program was conducted for women by Dr. Heshani Karunathilake, who is in charge of the Counselling Centre at Teaching Hospital Kalubowila.
Participated in the tree planting project done jointly by the Inner Wheel District 322 and Inner Wheel Clubs of the Philippines, Inc. Guava, mango and soursop plants were planted at a member’s residence.
The Inner Wheel Club of Colombo West refurbished two toilets with new fittings, accessories and the washroom area of the differently abled young adults of the “Madiwala Boys home”.
