The Inner Wheel Club of Kandy Metropolitan donated an artificial limb to a person in need to commemorate the club’s anniversary.
Hosted a Christmas Party for the Children at Jayawickrama Children’s Home, Bahirawakanda
The members of the Inner Wheel Club of Metropolitan hosted a Christmas party for the children at the Jayawickrama Children’s Home in Bahirawakanda. During the event, the children received gifts, food packs, and biscuits. Additionally, a donation of tile cleaner, Harpic, and Siddhalepa was made to the home.
Diabetic Project – Donation of Accu-Chek Glucometers to Endocrinology Unit, Kandy Hospital
Diabetic Project – The Inner Wheel Club of Kandy Metropolitan donated Seven Accu-Chek Glucometers to the Diabetic ward – Endocrinology unit, of Kandy Hospital.
Turfed the Play Area of Tikiri Sevana Children’s Home, Uda Peradeniya
The Inner Wheel Club of Kandy Metropolitan turfed the play area of Tikiri Sevana Children’s Home in Bowalawatta Uda Peradeniya. Milk powder, fruits, pampers, rattles and a rocking chair were also donated.
Donation of a Pressure Cooker to Patient Suffering from Chronic Kidney Disease
The Inner Wheel Club of Kandy Metropolitan donated a pressure cooker to a patient suffering from chronic kidney disease who is on Peritoneal Dialysis at Kandy Hospital.
Donation of blankets and hoodies
A joint project with Craft Group of Baptist Church Cleavlands, Brisbane, Australia. The beneficiaries from the plantation sector received blankets and dry rations. Craft group of Brisbane gifted 20 blankets and 30 hoodies.
Medical and dental camp
Organised a medical & dental clinic at Abhirami Tamil school, for the Kelebokka estate community . Oral health education including brushing demonstrations, dental screening and treatments were offered for more than 200 children. Tooth brush and tooth paste was donated to each child. District Project – Childhood Cancer
The Inner Wheel Clubs of Kandy, Kandy Metropolitan, Katugastota and Matale launched their District Project on Childhood Cancer by meeting with a little boy with leukemia and his mother and giving her the first month’s funds for his treatment. An additional cash donation is also donated to the family each month for other expenses.
