Celebrated International Literacy Day with a special guest author Ameena Hussein. Ameena shared her experiences that went into researching her best-selling book, “Chasing Tall Tales and Mystics: Ibn Battuta in Sri Lanka”. Food and fellowship were enjoyed by all after Ameena’s riveting lecture.

Weekly classes were held at St. Martin’s Creche, Colombo 5. Sponsored 12 ladies from WIN Her Jaffna to empower them through an 8 week course of a sewing programme at Singer Academy. Inner Wheel Club of Jaffna supported to coordinate this project.

Donated urgently requested medicines as well as an umbrella, a wall fan, four packs of adult diapers and a box of milk biscuits to the residents at Cheshire Home, a home for the differently abled. This is the oldest and longest-running project of the club.
